Honorable Judge David W. Carstetter , aged 80 years, passed in his home in Jacksonville, Florida on Wednesday July 11, 2018.
David was born on December 5, 1937 in Perry, Pennsylvania where he graduated from Penn State in 1960 with a Baccalaureate in Sociology. David then spent 5 years in the United States Navy as a fighter jet pilot, where he met and married Joy Thompson. He gained his Doctorate of Jurisprudence degree at Duke University Law School and began his career as an attorney in Jacksonville, Florida. In 1997 he was accepted as a Federal Judge where he served the bench until he retired in 2013.
Mr. Carstetter was precceded in death by his grandparents, Dr Wilson and Bertha Minton, his parents Fred and Ruth Carstetter, his sisters Judy and Romaine Carstetter, his son Mark Carstetter and daughter Laura Carstetter.
Mr. Carstetter is survived by his wife Sue Carstetter, his sons David and John Carstetter, Daughter Lisa Terry who gave him two beautiful granddaughters Jamie and Jessica Terry, his step-daughter by Sue, Jamie Tillotson who brings with her three sons, Anthony, Jakob and Joseph Tillotson and a great- grand daughter Sklyar Jane Tillotson.
David will be truly missed in his absence but will be remembered by those who were blessed by his presence. The family of Honorable Judge David W.
