Belva was proceeded in death by her father and mother, Ivey and Pearl Whitaker, her brother James Whitaker and her brother Bobby Whitaker.
Belva met the love of her life as a young teen and was married by 16. She would travel in the early stages of marriage as a military wife to places like New York and Louisiana before ending up back home in Jacksonville, Florida. She would raise her children on Jacksonville's Westside.
Belva was a stay at home mom who enjoyed shopping, traveling and cooking. She loved spending time with her grandkids and great grandchildren, who lovingly referred to her as Nanny. Belva's greatest impact would not only be the love she showed her own family, but the love she shared with her extended family. Heather, Holly, Bryan, Tina, and Jason were just a few of the "extended family" she cherished and enjoyed being "Nanny" to. There was never a shortage of warm hugs, hot meals, and good laughs in Nanny's home.
The Family has chosen to have a small graveside service at Riverside Memorial Park on Monday, January 23rd at 11:00am.
On Lieu of flowers, the family has requested any donations sent to the Jacksonville Humane Society.
