Gary Lynn Carlin, 64 passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, in Fleming Island, Florida.
Gary is survived by his wife, Karen Carlin, his children, Jennifer Young (Jeff Young) and Joseph Carlin (Sherry Carlin), his brother, Stuart Carlin and sister, Tammy Carlin. He is preceded in death by his Father, Joseph Carlin, his Stepmother, Evelyn Carlin, Mother, Beulah F. Carlin, and brothers Douglas Carlin, Tony Carlin and Frank Balestreri.
Gary was born on February 20, 1954, in Jeffersonville, IN to Joseph L. Carlin and Beulah F. Carlin. He graduated from Waukegan Township High School in 1972. He married Karen Moore in 1978. After moving to Jacksonville, FL, Gary began working for American Transmission as a Sales/Service Manager. The couple have 2 children, Jennifer Young and Joseph Carlin and three grandsons, Tristan Young, Grayson Young and Elijah Carlin. His family and friends remember Gary as a kind, gentle, patient and driven man who encouraged them to pursue their goals.
Gary was accomplished and had no limit to his talents. He was a generous and dedicated individual who loved life and who was passionate about his family and friends. He was an active and dedicated man with a passion for golf, cars, music, and movies.
A funeral is scheduled for Saturday, January 5, 2019, at 5:00 p.m. at The Fleming Island Golf Club (2260 Town Center Blvd, Fleming Island, FL 32003), with a reception to follow.
