It was April 20,2018, A Beautiful day that God had created, that James A
Richardson, Jr. was called home to be with our Lord Jesus in St. Augustine,
Florida. His last days were spent with his daughter Lisa Christine, son James
III and sister Dera and her husband Mitchell, in the most loving surroundings
that anyone could ask for. We lovingly Thank Community Hospice Bailey Center of St. Augustine, Florida
for their love, support, and kindness towards us, but for their love, humanity
and dignity that they gave James during his last days. We would not have made it
through this without the Loving Arms of Community Hospice Bailey Center. We also give our thanks to the many Doctors, Nurses, and support staff at Flagler Hospital, St. Augustine, who
gave James every chance to thrive. They never gave up.
James was born June 19, 1950 to the late, James Alvin Richardson and Doris
Young Richardson in Shreveport, La. James is also preceded in death by the
mother of his children Linda G. Webb.
James lived all of his childhood in Shreveport, LA, and was a graduate of
Woodlawn High School class of 1968. Some of his greatest childhood memories are
of his best friends Jimmy Crowley, Don Colvin and the late Donnie Hooper, he
loved them dearly. He served his country in the United States Air Force and was
stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base in Shreveport. When James left the United
States Air Force, he stayed in Shreveport where he grew up, to raise his family.
He was a hard worker and started working for the VA Hospital in Shreveport
when he left the United States Air Force. Then he then became employed at the
U.S. Postal Service delivering mail. He became Post Master in Oceans
Springs, Ms. until he retired. James moved to Jacksonville Florida to be close
to his children and grandchildren.
James leaves behind son James III and wife Gail, granddaughter Madison and
grandson Joshua of Orlando Florida. One beautiful daughter Lisa Christine
Hackler and grandson Milo Hackler of Jacksonville Florida. One sister Dera
Richardson Killingsworth and husband Mitch of Natchitoches La. He is also
survived by his Aunt Vivian Richardson Seals and husband David of Georgia and
Uncle LeRoy Richardson of Houston, Aunt Virginia Young of Bossier City, La.
James is survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews too many to name but
not forgotten. James was loved by all and will be missed.
There will be a Memorial Service May 4th, 2018. at 1:30 pm. It will be held
at Jacksonville National Cemetery with Military Honors, located 4083 Lannie Rd.
in Jacksonville Florida. Friends and Family are invited to come and join in the
celebration of his life.
