James Anthony Webb BM1 (SW), a proud wartime and retired veteran of the U.S. Navy, peacefully departed this life on July 2, 2022. He was born to the late John and Gearline Webb on June 12, 1967, in Memphis, TN. After graduating Northside High School, James enlisted in the Navy and proudly served his country with honor.
During this time, he married Margaret Bonnar and to this union were born daughter Nicole Webb; son James Webb; and bonus son Charles Marion (Rosanna), all of Jacksonville, FL.
James received military honors and recognition for his 20 years of dedicated service to the Navy as a Boatswains Mate BMI from 1985-2005. He continued to serve his country after retirement for 14 years as an Able Body Seaman at the Military Sealift Command until his passing.
In addition to his wife and children, James leaves to cherish his memory his siblings Barbara Webb Shannon (Marquette) of Memphis, TN; Donald Webb (Bridgett) of Lawton, OK; and Joyce Webb Harris (Luke) of Mt. Juliet, TN; Aunts Ruby Malone, Maude Fleming, and Girley Hines, of Memphis, TN; Earline Fleming of Collierville, TN; Earnestine Brooks of Byhalia, MS; Mildred Hardin (Sammie) of Oakland, TN; Uncles Eddie Fleming of New Windsor, NY; Curtis Fleming (Juanita) of Trenton, NJ; Arthur Webb (Jannie) of Red Banks, MS; Father-in-law Patrick Bonnar, Sr. and brother-in-law Kenneth Bonnar of Greenock, Scotland; Brother-in-law Patrick Bonnar, Jr. of Maine; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. James was preceded in death by his parents John and Gearline Webb; Grandparents Clarence Sr. and Freddie Fleming; and Ernest and Lucille Webb; Mother-in-law Stella Rankin, Aunts Sarah Boyd and Roxie Hardin; Uncles Clarence Fleming, Jr., Carl Fleming, Carnell Fleming, Robert Webb and Aaron Webb.
