William Myers

William Mcfern Myers 74, passed away on November 22, 2022 in Jacksonville, Florida. William is a Vietnam Veteran, he was born in Altoona, Pennsylvania and graduated from Altoona High School, Summa cum Laude. After graduation he served in the United States Air Force Search and Rescue division from Westover Air Base in Chicopee, Massachusetts during the Vietnam War and also served at Clark Air Force Base in Luzon Island, Philippines. After serving in the Unites States Air Force William graduated from University of Massachusetts with a degree in Early Childhood Education, he retired from the United States Postal Service after 47 years of service. He enjoyed, fishing, antiquing, gardening and loved herpetology.

William is predeceased by his parents, William R. Myers and Sylvania Ruby (Hale) Myers. William is survived by his wife, Linda Y. Myers of 33 years, of Jacksonville, Florida; brother George (Kathy) Myers Huntington, Pennsylvania; Daughters, Kerry (Paul) Bessette, Westfield, Massachusetts; Robin (Cedric) Myers, Arlington, Virginia; Pamela Myers, Wilmington, Massachusetts; Rebecca (Richard) Anton, Wilmington, Massachusetts; Angela (Joe) Fitzgibbon, Easthampton, Massachusetts; son, Gary Couture, Jacksonville, Florida. Six grandchildren, Daniel, Flora, Frank, Lillian, Aubrey, and Cole. Two great grandchildren, Jackson and Oliver.

Special thanks to his brother, Charles and sister in law Lawry for all their help. Go rest high on that mountain Bill, you did it your way. You are the strongest willed man I have ever known. You gave it your best fight. You will always be in my heart and I will always love you, Linda.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Make a Wish Foundation in William's name. A service will be held at the Jacksonville National Cemetery on December 16th, at 1:30.
