ADELIA D. GORDON - OBITUARY
Adelia Driggers Gordon was born in Lee, Florida on June 14, 1928, Flag Day, to S. K and Piercie (Waters) Lane Driggers. She was the youngest of 10 children.
Adelia (Dee) was raised on a farm outside of Lee, Florida. At age 14, she and her parents moved into Lee where she continued to attend Lee High School. When the school burned down, she transferred to Madison High School where she graduated.
Dee moved to Jacksonville, Florida and attended Massey Business College. She worked for Hartford Insurance Company in the claims department and stayed in claims work for several years. Later she worked for WQIK for 10 years and was one of the first office personnel at the station. She also worked for General Motors Chevrolet.
She served as national president of a social and philanthropic club, Lambda Tau Delta, for a two-year term. Dee was the Executive Director of the Rotary Club of Jacksonville where she retired as an Honorary member July 1, 1993, after 24 years of service. She is a Paul Harris Fellow.

Dee was one of the founding members of the Port of Jacksonville Pilot Club where she served on various committees, was on the Board of Directors and later served as President.
Dee also served on the Board of Directors of the Oxford Forest Condominium Association and was Treasurer for 3 years.
She was a member of the Southside Assembly of God church for over 30 years. Dee is survived by many nieces, nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews.
