André Louis Breault passed away on July 20th in Orange Park, Florida at the age of 89 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born in Donnacona, Québec, to Liliane Collin and Ernest Breault, predeceased by his first wife Gloria Currie (1935-1972) and his second wife Huguette Pronovost, (1938-2018), his sister Monique (Michel Landry) and brother Michel (Ann McKinley).

A Royal Military College cadet in 1949 and an ROTP lieutenant in the Canadian army, he was known for his hockey prowess. He graduated in 1955 as a civil engineer from the University of New Brunswick. André was a “steel man” a true entrepreneur having begun and operated companies in steel fabrication, travel trailer construction (Little Beaver) and owned and operated a restaurant, le Bûcheron. He was a maple syrup producer, was president of the Maple Syrup Grower's Union of Québec. He was one of the first to use vacuum tubing for sap collection. He was awarded a U.S. Patent for pre-cast composite concrete panels imbedded with steel joists. His work took him and his family to live in Québec, Jamaica, Turks and Caicos Islands and finally settling in Florida. A passionate man of boundless energy, optimism and good humour, he loved life, opera and classical music, reading and travel and was an avid yachtsman, his all steel boat was the Fantome.

Above all else he loved his family and will be greatly missed by his children Patty (Henri Martin-Laval), Tony (Diane Sicotte), Mike, Chris (Kim Tracanna) Liane (André Burke), 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Due to Covid a celebration of his life will be held at a future date.
