Angela Kay Miller was born in Ridgeland, S.C. to Jessie Carolyn Hudson and Alfred Howard Hudson, Sr. Her family moved to Jacksonville, Fla. when Angela was one month old and she lived the rest of her life in Jacksonville and St. Augustine.
Angela participated in ballet, singing and gymnastics and sang with the Jacksonville Youth Choir, which joined with the Jacksonville Symphony and its choir for Handel's Messiah each holiday season.
As a young woman, she worked as a nursing assistant at Baptist Hospital in downtown Jacksonville. Many years later, she earned an associates degree in Health Information Management and worked at the Nemours Children's Hospital and One-Call Care Management.
Angela loved to walk on the beach, most often with her daughter, and play golf, most often with her husband. She was a passionate dog owner who loved her dogs even more than they loved her, which was a lot.
In early June, Angela was stricken with a rare, auto-immune blood disorder known by the acronym HLH. She fought the disease bravely for several weeks but succumbed to it on July 3, 2024.
She is survived by her mother, Jessie Carolyn Hudson; sister Debora Carole Cunningham; brother Alfred Howard Hudson, Jr.; daughter Kimberly Ann Meixner-Clark; sons Michael J. Meixner, Jr. and Donald J. Rushlow, Jr.; grandchildren Hunter Sebastian Clark, Michael J. Meixner III and Alexis Breanne Hirsch; great-grandchild Nero Alucard Hirsch; and husband Warren Samuel Miller and their German shepherd, Sam. She was preceded in death by her father, Alfred Howard Hudson, Sr.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Angela Kay Miller will be at held at Naugle Funeral Home at 1203 Hendricks Ave. in Jacksonville on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.
