Barbara Walker Johnson was born in Branford, FL September 4, 1942. She danced through heaven's gates on September 19, 2020 surrounded by her family.
Consummate in everything she did from raising a family and educational pursuits to her professional career. She graduated from Paxon High School in 1960 and earned her B.A. from Jacksonville University. Barbara earned her Master's degree from Nova Southeastern University. Barbara retired from Florida Blue where she worked as an Administrator of Corporate programs and Human Resources. A true competitor who enjoyed tennis and bridge. She was active at the Shephard's Center where she enjoyed Country Western Dancing. Her mastery of country western dancing landed her on Dancing USA.
Barbara had a steadfast faith. She was a member of Orange Park United Methodist Church. Active in the ministry of every church she attended singing in the choir, playing the piano, leading children's choir and teaching Sunday School. Her gift of music and spiritual legacy has passed on to her grandchildren.
Barbara was predeceased by her parents O'Mel O'Steen Walker, Warren Fredrick Walker and her brother Warren Keith Walker. She is survived by her husband Harold R. Johnson (Casey), her brother Greg T. Walker and sister Trecia Walker Wade. She is also survived by her children Lori Harrell Hershey (Scott), David Edwin Harrell Jr (Theresa) and her eight grandchildren, Andrew Hershey (Maisaa), Joshua Hershey, Victoria Hershey, Hope Hershey, Adam Harrell (Hope), Ben Harrell (Dakota), Blaine Harrell, Abby Harrell, and two great grandchildren, Myles Harrell and Mac Harrell.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday September 30th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Naugle Funeral Home.
A celebration of life will be held Thursday October 1st at 11:00 a.m. at Naugle Funeral Home 1203 Hendricks Avenue Jacksonville, FL 32207. Graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Airline Baptist Church Cemetery 200 NE County Road 354 Mayo, FL 32066
