Barbara Seghers was born August 31, 1943 in Orlando, Florida to Clarence A.R. and Mary McCree Stiles and went home to be with her Lord on December 26, 2013, having experienced a sudden and unexpected heart attack. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, the Reverend Dr. Frank B. Seghers, Jr. of Jacksonville, Florida, their son, Jeremy Frank Seghers, presently of Brooklyn, New York, her sister, Mary Louise Henry of Snellville, Georgia, three nephews, one niece, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Barbara was a graduate of Boone High School, Orlando, Florida, attended Trevecca Nazarene College, Nashville, Tennessee, and was a graduate of Bethany Nazarene College, Bethany, Oklahoma. She was a state certified music teacher and taught in several public schools in Florida. An accomplished musician, vocalist, and committed Christian, she traveled with her husband in his work as a United Methodist evangelist and served as organist in several churches, the most recent of which is the First United Methodist Church of Green Cove Springs, Florida. She produced two record albums of sacred music. Funeral arrangements are as follows: Visitation on Thursday, January 2, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, @ Naugle Funeral Home, 1203 Hendricks Ave., Jacksonville, FL 32207, Phone (904) 396-1611; Funeral service on Friday, January 3, 11:00 AM, @ Faith United Methodist Church, 4000 Spring Park Road, Jacksonville, FL 32207, Phone (904) 737-3555; Interment following the service @ Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207, Phone (904) 396-2522. A luncheon after the burial service will be provided by the people of First United Methodist Church of Green Cove Springs and Faith United Methodist Church of Jacksonville.
