Benjamin Mark Winters (aka: Pyro Person)
age 26, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away Friday August 19,2016. Benjamin was born March 29th, 1990 in Orange Park, FL but lived in Jacksonville all his life. He is survived by his parents Harry & Helen Winters. Despite early childhood learning and vision difficulties, Ben was a naturally happy young man who had an infectious smile that everyone he met was encouraged by. Ben started working as a teenager for the Bono's Pit Bar-B-Q on Merrill Road and remained an employee there until his passing. Ben's favorite job was being a Security "analyst" at Mavericks At The Landing where everyone who worked there loved and respected him. Whenever his mother and I met any of the employees, they always had something good to say about Ben. Due to his learning difficulties he was never able to complete high school, but was still very intelligent and learned many things very fast. His best asset besides his smile was his body strength, and his will to use it constructively! He was an avid member of Bailey's Gym and a body builder. It was amazing to see him move heavy and large objects with little effort due to his determination to complete tough tasks! Ben collected differing forms of memorabilia particularly of Dragon Ball Z and other cartoon and comic book heroes. Ben also collected knives and was skilled in using them. He loved watching horror movies and action science fiction as well. His favorite TV series was "Supernatural."
Ben prayed the sinner’s prayer and was saved at only five years old! As a father I questioned this but he clearly understood the gospel and went to church regularly through his teenage years. Ben rededicated his life to Christ in 2011, so we know we will see him again in Heaven one day!
