Betty J Pollner, age 93, passed away 07/21/2018. Betty was born in Lakeland, Florida and was a honors graduate of Lakeland High School. During her Junior and Senior year she danced professionally excelling in Ballet and Tap techniques. When her children were young, she owned and operated Cleveland Heights Play School in Lakeland and put on yearly dance shows with the children for their families. The play school closed after three years when her husband's office transferred him to Jacksonville. In Jacksonville she worked as a salesperson at the Vogue clothing store and then as Assistant Manager of the French Novelty store. In later years she was a dance instructor at Fascinatin' Rhythm Studio in Jacksonville choreographing recitals and performing on stage until age 70. Betty was a member of the Grace Chapel (now San Jose Episcopal) church and past president of the Daughters of the King.
She is preceded in death by her parents Kate and Robert Corley, husband Jack W. Pollner, daughter Teran K Pollner, brother Robert Corley II, sister Billie Wheeler and her husband L.S. Wheeler. Survivors include her son Barry Pollner, grandchildren Tanya Watson and husband Wynn, Jason Pollner and wife Tawnee, two great grandsons Kyle and Bryce Watson and nieces and nephews. Graveside Services will be held on August 4th at 11:00am at Oaklawn Cemetery, 4801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville.
