Billie Smith

Billie Jeanne (Mitchell) Smith, daughter of William P. and Syble Mitchell of Fort Worth, Texas, was born on July 12, 1947. After retiring from Wellington Insurance Company in Fort Worth, Texas, she moved to Ponte Vedra, Florida, where she spent the last four years of her life. She passed from this life on Sunday, Sept. 12th, 2021. She was married for 56 wonderful years to Robert C. "Bobby" Smith. Billie and Bobby met in the summer of 1962, introduced by Billie's sister, Anita. Billie was 15, a high school sophomore, and Bobby was 17, a high school senior, and they dated until June 4, 1965, when they were married in Fort Worth, Texas. Billie is survived by her husband, Bobby, her son, R. Troy Smith, grandsons, Cullen, Andrew, and Patrick Smith, granddaughter, Caleigh Smith, sister, Anita Mitchell Olson, and brother, Darrell Mitchell. Services will be Sunday, September 26, 2021 at The Church of Eleven22, 14286 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach, Florida 32250. Services will begin at 2:00 p.m. with a reception afterward. Flowers may be sent to the Naugle Funeral Home, 1203 Hendricks Ave., Jacksonville, Florida 32207, on Friday the 24th, or before noon on Saturday the 25th. Donations may be made in Billie's name to the Wounded Warrior Project.
