Blanche Van Nelson
January 13, 1926 — December 22, 2014
Blance Van Nelson, age 88, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2014 after a long and valiant battle with multiple illnesses. She was born in Ellenton, Florida. She is predeceased by her treasured son, James "Ronnie" Reeves and her beloved husband Lloyd "Van" Van Nelson.
Blanche spent her young years in South Carolina. In her adult life Van built her a mountain home in Pickens which she kept all her life and spent many happy times there. She had a great life working for a time with the duPont Estate, closely with Jessie Ball du Pont. After she married Van she joined him in his business. Once she retired she became part of the St. Luke's Hospital Auxiliary and transferred to Mayo Clinic auxiliary when they merged and spent over 25 years as a volunteer. She enjoyed interacting with the staff and patients and was very happy those times on her "desk". She was loved by all who interacted with her and made many friends.
Blanche leaves behind many who loved her. A grandson, Jason Reeves, step-granddaughter Bonnie Van Nelson Bushee, dear friend and "adopted" daughter Christine Lichi and her husband Humberto.
Her wish was to be placed with her two loves, Van and Ronnie at Pretty Place in Pickens, South Carolina and that will take place in the Spring of 2015.
