Candace Hardin Crosby was born April 9, 1954, in Atlanta, Ga., and died Wednesday, January 24, 2024, in Orange Park, Fl. Candy, as she was known, was 69 years old and married 49 � years. She suffered a stroke in May of 2020, and never fully recovered.
Candy spent 50+ years in the insurance industry, with experience in Administration, Marketing, Underwriting and retired in January 2020 from Mike Hardin Insurance, after working there 22 years.
Candy married Gregory Alan Crosby on June 14, 1974. They have 2 daughters, Jennifer Carbajal (Carlos) and Crystal Johnston (Charles). They have 4 grandchildren (AnneMarie, Victoria, Elizabeth, and Joseph Carbajal).
Candy was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church for 42 years. She was a Eucharistic Minister, sang in the choir and volunteered at St. Vincent De Paul Society.
Candy was the 2nd of 12 children born to Sarah & Tom Hardin. She is survived by her siblings: Cathi Godwin-Cox, Chris Scott (Tim), Tom (Nancy), Dennis, Trisha Wright, Pat (Joy), Boo Fields (Carl), Mike (Tracy), Pete (Mary), Paul, and Christopher (Roxie). She is also survived by a brother-in-law, James (Diana) Crosby. She was loved by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Candy is preceded in death by her father and mother, Thomas Newton Hardin, Jr. and Sarah Gillette Hardin, and in-laws, Molly and Howard Crosby.
The viewing and a Scriptural Rosary will be held at Naugle Funeral Home, Wednesday, 1/31/24, 5:30-7:30 pm, at 1203 Hendricks Avenue, Jacksonville, 32207. The service will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (5752 Blanding Blvd, Jacksonville, 32244) on Thursday, 2/1/24. Church opens at 11:30 am, Funeral Mass at noon with the burial following at Jax Memory Gardens, 111 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park, 32073. There will be a fellowship dinner afterwards, from 3:00-5:00 pm, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Feel free to bring a covered dish.
