Carl Eugene McCormick, Sr. of Jacksonville, FL, age 80, finished his journey here on earth on July 7, 2023.
Carl was born on January 31, 1943, in Jacksonville Florida. He spent the first few years out of high school serving in the National Guard. Carl had a very full life, racing cars, raising his 4 boys, coaching baseball, enjoying the outdoors, gardening and raising his own livestock. Carl started working in the window industry in the 1960s and worked for various window companies throughout his life and passed on this trade to his sons and then his grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his mother Dollie Smith Walker, his father Johnnie E. McCormick, his brother Raymond P. McCormick, his sister Thelma A. Wallace, his son Robert E. McCormick and his grandson Russell C. McCormick, Jr.
He is now survived by his wife Brandy Dawn McCormick, his children, Russell C. McCormick (Lou Anne McCormick), Carl E. McCormick and Raymond J. McCormick, his grandchildren, Robert E. McCormick, Jr., (Yilin McCormick), Preston B. McCormick, Mallory A. Williams (Brandon Williams), Raymond J. McCormick, Jr. (Cris McCormick) Brooke Holden (Josh Holden) and Connor J. McCormick and 12 great grandchildren.
There will be a graveside service, Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 10:00 am, at the Smith Family Cemetery, 5082 Cemetery Road, Jacksonville, FL.
The family would like for anyone attending to honor Carl in casual attire.
