Carol Golden

Golden, Carol Ann, 75, lost her hard-fought battle with cancer, surrounded by her three children on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Community Hospice and Palliative Care in Jacksonville, Florida. Carol was born on January 2, 1943, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Fred and Ella Lord. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed numerous hobbies: counted cross stitch, reading, golfing, painting, and many other arts and crafts. She looked forward to spending time with her friends, playing cards, going to movies and luncheons. Carol was known for her endless kindness, loving heart and thoughtful manner. She fought her long cancer battle with an extraordinary grace, dignity, and a wonderful sense of humor; which was contagious to all around her. Carol enjoyed many lasting friendships throughout the years and held dear each and every friend. She will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and all who knew her. Carol is survived by her husband, John Golden; children, Curt Hoffman, Christine Urban and Cathy Standard; daughter-in-law Janice Hoffman; son-in-laws, Greg Urban and Doug Standard; grandchildren, Evan Standard, Jake Standard, Rachel Urban, Katie Urban, Cara Standard and Rylee Hoffman; also a number of other relatives and close friends. In lieu of lowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Shriners Hospital.
