Charles Timothy Murphy passed away on October 19,2015, in Jacksonville, Florida, surrounded by loving family. Tim was born in Dothan, AL, November 25, 1952, and moved with his family to Green Cove Springs, Fl in 1959. Tim graduated from Clay High School in 1971, where he was an excellent trumpet player, and also the drum major, his junior and senior years. Tim loved Christian music and was music director at a local Baptist Church for a time. Tim's son, Clay, inherited his love for the trumpet, and after excelling in the Ed White High School band, he played on occasion with the Jacksonville Symphony and later with the University of South Florida band. Tim's daughter, Heather, is a graduate of the University of Florida, and Tim was an avid supporter of the Gators. Tim spent his career in the food service industry, becoming an excellent chef,and later managing several restaurants. He is preceded in death by his father , Charles Leonard Murphy, and mother, Grace Roberson Murphy. He is survived by his daughter, Heather Grace, and son, Charles Clayton, and sisters, Linda M. Hosic(Del), and Marsha M. Roberts, and nephew Chris Roberts.
