Charles William Owens, born on June 5, 1935, in New Albany, Indiana, passed away on January 13, 2025, in Callahan, Florida. He lived a life marked by dedication and service, having committed 22 years to the United States Navy, where he served as a Chief Hospital Corpsman. After his honorable discharge in 1976, he and his family settled in Jonesborough, Tennessee, where he continued to make an impact in the community as a Medical Technician at Johnson Medical Center in Johnson City for 23 years until his retirement.
Charlie was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Anita G Robison Owens. Together, they raised a family that he cherished deeply. He is survived by his son, Carl W Owens, and his wife, Michelle, along with his daughter, Kathleen G Owens Moore. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Jessica Moore, Danielle Moore, Caitlyn Owens, and Colby and his wife Regean Moore. Charlie is preceded in death by his grandson, Justin W. Owens.
His commitment to family, community, and country will always be remembered and celebrated by those who knew him. The memorial services to honor Charles William Owens will take place on January 20, 2025. Visitation will be held at Naugle Funeral Home in Jacksonville, Florida, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, followed by a graveside service at Jacksonville National Cemetery at 1:00 PM.
Charlie’s life was one of service, love, and resilience, and he leaves behind a legacy that will not be forgotten, always remembered fondly by his loving family and friends.
