Charles Wendel Plummer, 90, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2025. He was born in Gary, Indiana to Emmett and Louise Plummer.
He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Dorothy, his sister, Patricia (Buddy) and his nephew Jeff.
He is survived by his daughter, Beth (Bill); his sister, Janet; his nephew, Scott; his grandchildren, Sarah (Ryan) and Garrett; and his great-grandchildren, Olivia and Ethan.
Charles proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1963. Following his service, he earned a Master’s Degree in Accounting from the University of North Florida and went on to become a Certified Public Accountant. He dedicated over 45 years of service to the City of Jacksonville as a senior investment analyst.
Beyond his career, Charles had a lifelong passion for cars and trains. He also had a deep appreciation for golden age of country music, especially legends like Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings, whose songs were often the soundtrack to his days.
Visitation will be held at Naugle Funeral Home on Thursday, February 13th from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., with the funeral service immediately following at 5:30 p.m. A graveside service will take place on Friday, February 14th at Greenlawn at 1:00 p.m. Flowers are welcomed, but if you would prefer to make a donation to the charity of your choice in Charles' memory, you are invited to do so.
Charles will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
