We are sad to announce that Corey Alexander Powell, 36, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on May 23, 2023.
Corey was a graduate of Frank H. Peterson Academy class of 2005. He studied Medical Assistant at Dade Medical, Jacksonville Fla.
Corey was born on October 20, 1986, to James E. Powell and Brenda L. Powell in Portsmouth, Va.
Corey often visited the beach where he allowed the currents to guide and calm his heart. Corey loved his family and friends. He found great joy in cooking for them and sharing his playlist while dancing and singing. Music and the beach were his refuge.
Corey is survived by his loving mother, father, brothers, sister, uncles, aunts, cousins
and a multitude of friends.
Memorial Services will be held at Hanna Park on June 10, 2023, at 11:00AM.
