Curtis Leon Thomas, 48, a resident of Jacksonville for the past 4 years, passed away on September 12, 2018 at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville Florida
He was preceded in death by his father Curt Thomas, and his mother Lorine Durden. He is survived by his wife, Corona; son, Kevin; grandchildren, Kayson J, Kristopher J, and Seven Glory; sisters, Patricia Richardson (Albany Ga), Curtistine Mitchell (Atlanta Ga); brother, Michael Thomas (Valdosta Ga); mother-in-law, Corrine Morris (Albany Ga) and several nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.
Curtis was born on September 1st, 1970 in Hazelhurst GA. He attended Bradwell Institute in Hinesville GA, and was a graduate of Albany Technical College in Albany GA with a Printing/Graphics diploma. In 1994 he moved to Albany Ga where he met his wife Corona. They resided in Albany GA until 2014, and then moved to Jacksonville, FL where he started a job with Safariland Group. He left Safariland in March 2018 to work for Stenner Pumps. He was employed as a Moulder set up Technician at Stenner Pumps at the time of his death.
Curtis loved his family! He built a life with his wife Corona and son Kevin for 24 years. They were his world, and he was theirs. Curtis and Corona were always together. You saw one, you saw the other. He loved to fish and go to the beach. He also enjoyed cooking for his family, and was a beast on the grill. He was always there for anyone to lend a helping hand. Whether it was turning around to help a stranger stranded on the road, or assisting the elderly, he did it all without complaining or wanting recognition. He would always say "I would want someone to help my love ones if it were them"
A Memorial Service will be held at Naugle Funeral Home at 1203 Hendricks Ave. at 2pm, Friday September 21.
