Danny Wayne Dixon, II (41)
February 22, 1982-July 4, 2023
Danny was born in Snellville, GA. When he was 6 months old, he moved with his parents to Lithia Springs, GA, where he later attended Lithia Christian Academy from kindergarten until second grade. He relocated to Jacksonville, FL, and finished second grade at University Christian Academy. The following year he attended Beauclerc Elementary and then transferred to Seabreeze Elementary in Jacksonville Beach.
Danny was a very gifted musician. We gave him his first box guitar when he was 9 years old. His dad gave him some drums, and we gave him drum lessons. His teacher told us he had never seen anyone learn to play so quickly. His next instrument was a Fender guitar, and the rest was history. He even worked at The Guitar Center for a while, and it was a toss-up of which job he liked better, that one or Chick-fil-A. He attended Snellville High School and went on to play in numerous bands, traveling the country - as he liked to put it - "Living the Dream."
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Doris (Courson) & William Henry Clark (Kingsland, GA); one brother, Charles R. Lee, III (Waycross, GA); uncles: Edgar L. Clark, Sr. (Blackshear, GA), James E. Clark (Tifton, GA), & Larry A. Clark (Kingsland, GA); numerous cousins; & his father Danny W. Dixon (Snellville, GA); his paternal grandparents John Dixon, (Douglasville, GA) & Hoyt Cryder, (Snellville, GA); and one aunt Wanda (Duke) White (Lawrenceville, GA); & numerous cousins.
He is survived by his parents Lynda (Clark) & John A. Simpson (Jacksonville Beach, FL); sister Sabrina Lori (Lee) Williams (Mark) (Blackshear, GA); sisters-in-law Susan Lee & Mandy Lee (both of Waycross, GA); aunts: Trudie (Harrell) Clark (Kingsland, GA), Faye (Booth) Freeman (Waycross, GA), & Marie Clark (Tifton, GA); his father's family: grandmother Nora Cryder, sister & brother Tangel (Dixon) Smith (of Monroe, GA) & Mason Buck Dixon (Leah) (Peachtree City, GA); & aunt Deborah (Duke) Milligan (Monroe, GA); uncles: Joey Dixon (Douglasville, GA) & Michael Cryder (Snellville, GA); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, & cousins.
