It is with the most heavy of hearts that we share the passing of David M Emery, 42, of Jacksonville, Florida, who went to be with God on October 23, 2021.
He is survived by his loving parents, Connie and Jerry Emery, his brother and sister-in-law Jeff and Shannon Emery, his nieces Ashlyn and Lyra, his grandmother, Marybelle Jares, and an extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Dave also leaves behind countless life-long friends from Oswego (IL) High School and Augustana College, and from his time living and working in Illinois, North Carolina, and Florida. Whether with family or friends, Dave could always lift up a room with his smile and a high-five, or with his kindness and love.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Margaret Jares, Gertrude Reed, and Donald and Edna Emery, and his aunt and uncle, Barbie and Don Easton.
During his final years, Dave battled hard against his challenges with addiction and mental illness. In this fight, he was supported by family, friends and professionals, and the family is eternally grateful for their caring support.
A service in his memory will be held on Friday, October 29 at 11:30am at First Presbyterian Church of Wildwood, in Wildwood, Florida. Additional memorials will be planned in the near future both virtually and in the Chicago area.
