Osterhout- David Osterhout 65, of Jacksonville Fl passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 11, 2021, at St Vincent's Hospital after a battle with Covid and Pneumonia. David is preceded in Death by his parents, his many Brothers and sisters, adopted family Jimmy Day, Lois Day, Theresa Ogletree, and Steve Coshow. He leaves behind his nephews Michael Osterhout and James Ogletree and adopted brothers Jerry Day and Terry Day (Sarah). David was known by many to be the type of man many strive to be. He had many friends who are just as heart broken as the family at his early departure from this world. Many knew him for his little Orange Scion car that he loved driving around town, and others knew him for his constant hobby of building cars in the carport at home. He was the type of guy that has literally given the shirt off of his back to those in need. He proudly Served in the U.S. Army, of which he was very proud to have served. He worked on the famed UH-1 Huey Helicopters and was stationed in Korea for 2 years. Per David's request, there will be a very small funeral at Jacksonville National Cemetery on a date to be determined. There will be a gathering at James Ogletree's house in his memory at a date to be determined. In Leu of Flowers, please donate to a military nonprofit of your choice in David's Name.
