Debra Rene Mills
April 4, 1961 — September 11, 2020
On Friday, September 11, 2020, Debra Rene' (Lee) Mills, loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, Grammy, and beloved friend, peacefully yet unexpectedly passed away at the age of 59. She was surrounded by her daughters and husband.
Rene' was born on April 4, 1961 in De Leon, Texas to Elbert and June (Jordan) Lee. She graduated from Harding Academy in Searcy, Arkansas in 1979. On October 12, 1979, she married Lewis Bryant Mills in Searcy, Arkansas. Together they raised three daughters: Shannon, Melissa, and Ashlee.
Rene' was a loving stay-at-home mom and had a passion to love and serve others. She was the one to call when someone was sick, recovering, or just needed a helping hand. She never missed a sporting event, theatrical performance, school celebration, or special occasion. She faithfully served in children's ministries and choir at several churches. She lived her faith and shared Jesus with everyone she met, and her most important goal in life was to raise children who personally know Jesus as their Savior (they do!).
Rene' loved traveling and spending time with her husband, especially at Disney. Most of all, though, she absolutely adored her six grandchildren who called her Grammy, and she was very involved in all their lives. She always said she was born to be a Grammy! Bryant (14), Nicolyn (9), Landon (7), Lyra (5), Eliza (5), and Patrick (5) were the joys of her life.
Rene' will be best remembered for her beautiful, wide smile and infectious laugh. She sought to find the good in every person. Her family and friends remember her singing all the time, playing cards, and laughing until she cried.
Rene' was preceded in death by her nephew Johnathon Lee (2017) and her grandparents. She is survived by her husband Bryant, her three children, Shannon Kubisiak (Michael), Melissa Lopez (Sebastian), and Ashlee King (Christian), her parents Elbert and June Lee, her in-laws Robert and Shelby Mills, her brothers John Paul Lee (Cenia) and Justin Lee (Kenda), her brothers-in-law Chip Mills (Pam), Mark Mills (Maffe), and Scott Mills (Sue Ann), her grandchildren Bryant Kubisiak, Nicolyn Kubisiak, Landon Lopez, Lyra Lopez, Eliza King, and Patrick King, and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends-turned-family.
A viewing for family and close friends will be held on Monday, September 21, 2020, at Creekside Christian Church on Lifespring Way in St. Johns, Florida at 2:00pm. A celebration of life will immediately follow at 3:30pm. Per her wishes, Rene' will be cremated.
