Debra Heyser Peeples
September 7, 1957 — January 12, 2019
Debra Peeples, 61, returned to her heavenly home on January 12, 2019 after a valiant battle with a long illness. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace.
Debra was born to the late Lester and Hulda Heyser, in Palatka, FL on September 7, 1957. She was immersed in the Christian community that would be her lifelong support from an early age. She graduated from Palatka South High School in 1975 and then enrolled at Florida Junior College and completed a degree in respiratory therapy, where she would continue in her career as a respiratory therapist for many years.
Debra was blessed with a large and loving family. She married her best friend, Harold James Peeples Jr., on January 25, 1980 at Lakeshore Baptist Church, in Jacksonville, FL. Together, they raised two sons, Brian and Erik Peeples. From the very beginning, she dedicated her sons to God and encouraged them to explore the beauty of the gospels and continually focused on modeling faithfulness in the Lord.
Debra was a respiratory therapist. She loved her work and excelled in her profession. She was kind and soft-spoken, and always had time to answer a question or solve a problem, no matter how small. She is dearly missed by her loved ones, who celebrate the fact that she is at peace with her creator.
Debra is survived by her sons, Brian Peeples and Erik (Mary) Peeples; her brother, Beaman Heyser and sister Yvonne (Corky) Anderson; former husband, Harold Peeples, Jr; sister-in-law, Teresa (Jo) Blanton; sister-in-law Gail Heyser; and mother-in-law, Sylvia Peeples. She is also survived by her grandchildren Haylie Peeples, Grace Peeples, and Carter Peeples. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Patricia Lyons; brother, Stephen Heyser; and father-in-law, Harold Peeples, Sr.
A memorial service for Debra will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2019, at 11:00 a.m., at Lake Shore Baptist Church, located at 2365 Blanding Blvd., Jacksonville, FL, 32210. Brother Paul Steinbach and Brother Ron Dempsey will officiate the service. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Lakeshore Baptist Church, something near and dear to Debra's heart.
