The Life of Delayne ====
Delayne was born to the late Diane Reese and Dalton Butler Jr. of Columbus, Ohio. He was a loving and devoted father to Britton and Breyah Reese which changed the course of his life. Delayne met the love of his life (Renee) at Imani Christian Church in 2011 and after a short courtship they married in Columbus Ohio September 6, 2014. A year later they received a special gift "Jayla" he would often say Jayla is our married child, and we are going to raise her together in the gospel.
Delayne received Jesus Christ in the year of 2000; he served under the tutelage and leadership of his father at Imani Christian Church (Columbus, OH). In his thirst for ministry Delayne started "Thursday Night Thunder" in his home which was the foundation of his call into the pastorate. He embraced his call as a pastor and moved his family to Jacksonville, FL, where he founded and established his ministry "GOP" (Gospel of Peace), under the leadership of Apostle Eddie Bass (Church of God's Elect Assembly Int'l.) It was then that he flourished as a pastor and became the man he was called to be. Despite his obstacles Layne had an impeccable work ethic and knew how to hustle! Providing for his family was always his #1 priority! Layne had two passions, people, and landscaping. Through it all he understood the importance of handling everyone with care and uncompromising diligence.
Delayne was preceded in death by his mother Diane Reese, stepmother Elizabeth Butler, grandmother Julia "Peaches" Reese, grandfather John "Tex" Reese, grandfather Dalton Butler Sr, aunt Carol Jones, aunt Jackie Reese, aunt Linda Hayes.
