Delores T. Strong, 92, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2024 at Avante Villa in Jacksonville Beach, Florida after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. She was born on June 20, 1931 to Dock Turner and Hilry Doolittle in St. Louis, Missouri.
Throughout her life, "LoLo" was known for her sound work ethic, sewing, gardening, and baking skills and warm smile. She touched the lives of many with her cogent advice and sharp wit. She will be remembered for her abundant vegetable gardens and sumptuous spreads at family gatherings, as well as being a diligent student during bible study.
Delores was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She cherished time spent with her family and friends, always offering her support, love, and wisdom. Strengthened by her faith, she preserved through life's trials.
She is survived by her son Brian and daughter-in-law Tina, granddaughters Brittney and Chole, great grandchildren Cassius, Nori, and Nixon, as well as many other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
A graveside service to honor and celebrate Delores' life will be held at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens in Jacksonville, Florida on May 10 at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or Alzheimer's Association in her memory.
Delores will be deeply missed but will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
