Doris C. Lazar

Doris C. Lazar (a.k.a. Doris Timmons), 79, passed away peacefully, in the company of her daughters and loved ones, Wednesday, March 22nd, 2017. She was born Doris Jean Campbell in Chatham county, North Carolina, on August 22, 1937.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents, Amick and Vallie Campbell (nee Burke), and brothers, Kenneth & Jimmy Campbell. She is survived by her loving daughters, Sandra Williamson (Bob) and Kim Moran (Stephen) and grandson Josh Williamson, all of Jacksonville, Florida. Also, sister, Carolyn Alley of Summerfield, and brothers, Amick Campbell, Jr. of Greensboro and Donnie Campbell of Pleasant Garden, North Carolina.
Doris had the kindest heart and most generous spirit. With a beautiful warm smile, she was selfless, strong and soft at the same time. Always fashionable and elegant, she was a friend to everyone and an especially good listener. Doris worked many years for Jacksonville orthopedic doctors (Pohl and Grube) and was well-known by everyone that frequented those offices. Extremely neat and organized, Doris always worked hard and liked to help wherever she could. Like her mom, whom Doris said kept a beautiful garden, she loved plants…even talked to them so they would grow better.
Active, independent and healthy to the end, Doris loved to read and visit with friends for breakfast. Doris loved to drive and preferred stick shift sports cars. Doris loved to search out special deals at consignment stores with her daughters and friends, and was always excited to find a great new pocketbook or denim jacket.
Doris loved her two daughters deeply and was a great mom. They are heartbroken - the world is emptier without her in it and we all miss her terribly.
The family will receive friends Thursday, March 30, between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm for a brief memorial at 11:30 am and informal gathering at the Naugle Funeral Home on Hendricks Avenue to remember Doris and celebrate her life.
