Earl F. Coleman of Jacksonville, FL passed away on November 21, 2021 at the age of 81. He was a loving husband, father, papa and friend. He will be dearly missed.
Earl was born in Olustee, FL on March 9, 1940. He graduated from Baker County High School and soon after started working for passenger service at Jax Terminal. Later, he went to work for Seaboard Airlines Railroad, currently known as CSX. Earl retired after 44 years with the railroad as a conductor.
Earl loved spending time with family and friends. Fishing and the Florida Gators were his greatest passions. He was the Mayor of San Souci and the mechanic of small engine repair. He was always available to help anyone in need. Earl never met a stranger, you were his friend immediately.

Earl is survived by his wife Merlyn of 59 years, his son Ricky (Marcy) Coleman, daughter, Kathy (Dwayne) Chappell and 5 grandchildren, Kaitlin (Chris) Trueblood, Kyle Chappell and Rhett, Reiss and Rylee Coleman. He was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Daisy Coleman, Little Granny Mattie Johns and brother, Melvin Coleman.
Earl loved his church, food, and fellowship. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be made in his honor for the remodeling of the kitchen (Taylor Hall) at Southpoint Baptist Church: 3335 Tiger Hole Rd. Jax, FL 32216
The family is having a private ceremony at a later date.
