Ellen Louise Flynn, 84, passed away on April 16, 2016 after a long illness.
Ellen, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, was born in Jacksonville, Florida in 1932. She lived for several years in Cleveland Tennessee, where she was valedictorian of her middle school class. During those days she played as the point guard (At a towering 4’ 11” for the girls basketball team.)
Ellen graduated from Landon High School in Jacksonville, loved the Florida Gators and the Jacksonville Jaguars. She loved people, always wanted to spend time with her friends and laugh. Her joy was to make people happy and comfortable. She was full of jokes, comical comments, and funny sayings.
Her passion is her love of God and HIS word. And prayer. Her purpose was to help people, pray for them, and comfort them with God’s word.
Ellen is preceded in death by her mother, Minnie Lee Wasdin; her father, Earl Henry Howard; her husband, Earl Hampton Flynn Jr.; and first husband, Thomas Duncan Cheatham.
Ellen is survived by her 3 sons and their spouses; Robert Thomas Cheatham and his wife Deborah, David Henry Cheatham and his wife Teresa, and Kevin Lee Flynn, her grand children; Joel Dion Cheatham and his wife Morgan, David James Cheatham, Sarah JoEllen Cheatham, and Kaitlin Danielle Flynn, and lastly her great grand children, Evie Isabella Horne and Reagan Isleigh Cheatham.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at 1:00pm in Naugle Funeral Home Chapel, 1203 Hendricks Avenue, Jacksonville, FL, 32207.
