Eunice “Winkie” Gertrude Rehwinkel Scott

Eunice “Winkie” Gertrude Rehwinkel Scott went to be with the Lord on March 1, 2017 at the age of 100, in the comfort of her bed at Palm Garden Care Center in Jacksonville, FL.
She was born on September 13, 1916 in Crawfordville, FL to Herman & Carl Elizabeth Rehwinkel. She was the eldest of four children, the late Elizabeth Knowles (the late Lester) , Carl Rehwinkel (late Jean), and Ida Frances (Dale) Boatwright.
She married the late Carroll “Scotty” William Scott on December 26, 1942. After high school graduation, she attended St. Luke’s Nursing School graduating with her nickname “Winkie” and diploma in 1939. Later she and Scotty got into the catering business for General Motors which led to the “Coffee Shop” located on Cassatt Ave. at the Ford Dealership where she became known for her homemade-made pies from scratch. During this time, she was also a good and faithful servant of the Lord at Southside Christian Church, where she participated in various capacities from Sunday School teacher to head crafter for projects such as the annual Fall Festival and the Christian Woman’s Fellowship where she was named a “Lay-Woman.”
She is survived by her children, Sheryl (Dan) Bucur and Carroll “Bill”(the late Janet) Scott; grandchildren, Daniella Bucur, Jennifer (Chris) Hammock, Michele (Bobby) Stout, Craig (Mary) Scott, Paul Scott; great-grandchildren, Jessica, Aaron, Luke, Madison, Taylor, Nathan, Paisley, and Liam; and numerous nieces & nephews.
Viewing and service will be held at Southside Christian Church on Monday March 6 , 2017 at 12:30 pm, followed by a graveside service at Greenlawn Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to the “Love of her life”, Scotty. She has requested that in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Jacksonville Historical Society for the St. Luke’s memorabilia in her honor. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Naugle Funeral Home (904) 396-1611.
