Evelyn Laura Hutto Greenway, age 101, born to parents Lonzie Laton Hutto, Sr. and Laura Mildred Gunter in Elberton, Georgia on December 12, 1914, passed away at home on Monday, April 4, 2016. A resident of Jacksonville since 1947, Evelyn was the oldest living member of Riverside Baptist Church. She was a member of the Euzelian Sunday School Class, a Choir Mother and co-teacher with her husband in Youth Training Union. Evelyn was the longest living of her six siblings. She was a dedicated homemaker. Evelyn enjoyed working in her yard, cooking, knitting afghans and scarves, and line dancing. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Franklin Greenway. Evelyn will be remembered for her strength of character and great faith in God.
Evelyn is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Evelyn and Charles Alderman; granddaughter Laura Coogan (Clark); grandson Bob Alderman (Erin); great grandchildren Alex Alderman, Avery Alderman, Ben Coogan and Claire Coogan; niece Ginger Hutto Peters (Ken); and nephew Galen Hutto (Cheryl).

A memorial service will be held at Riverside Baptist Church, 2650 Park St., Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., with Dr. Brett Foster and Reverend Brent Beaird presiding.
