Evelyn Lucille Beyer Mundy Schilpp, 85, passed away in her home in Lake City, Florida on Saturday, October 1, 2016. Evelyn was the daughter of Lucille West Beyer Machart and Lawrence Matthew Beyer. She was born on August 13, 1931, in Jacksonville, Florida. She grew up on her family's dairy farm in Jacksonville. Following the marriage to her first husband, Evelyn also resided in Miami, FL, Winston Salem, NC, Dayton, OH, and Nashville, TN while he was in college, medical school, and serving as a resident physician.
Evelyn is survived by one aunt, Doris West Cripps; three sisters, Katherine Beyer Brown, Barbara Beyer Railey, and Loretta Beyer Sumner; a brother, Larry Beyer; 11 nieces and nephews; and 14 great nieces and great nephews. Evelyn was predeceased by her parents and an infant brother Lloyd Edward Beyer (Larry's twin).
Early on Evelyn worked at the American National Bank in Jacksonville. In 1958 she married Dr. Elbert J. Mundy who pre-deceased her. Dr. Mundy practiced internal medicine at the Veterans Hospital in Lake City. In 1987 she married Mr. Peter Schilpp who also pre-deceased her. Pete was the owner and operator of Pete's Refrigeration in Lake City and was a WWII veteran.
Evelyn was an avid animal lover and extremely passionate about her cats. She rescued as many cats as she could. Evelyn will be deeply missed by her friends and family.
A graveside service will be held at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205 at 11 AM on Saturday, October 15th. Flowers may also be sent to same. Arrangements by Naugle Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1203 Hendricks Avenue Jacksonville, FL (904) 396-1611.
