Gary Wade Ferguson 10/11/1952-06/08/2019
Gary Wade Ferguson was born 7 of 9 children to parents Johnnie and Viola Ferguson in beautiful Kingsport,Tennessee. When he was 11 his family moved to St. Petersburg, Fl. This would be where, at the age of 16, he would meet the love of his life, Joanne Doyle and spend the rest of his life with her and their two children.
A Vietnam-era Marine, Gary had a lifelong love of military history and an unshakeable sense of patriotism. After his time in the Marines, Gary worked as an auto mechanic. Known by his family as a tinkerer and American muscle car enthusiast, anybody could turn to Gary for expert advice on vehicles.
Besides his family, Gary's passions were his motorcycle, his Ford Mustang and the animals he took under his care. Those who knew him can attest to the great respect and love he showed to animals of all kinds. Gary was an amazing grandfather who enjoyed hanging out with his grand kids, sharing his passions and experiences with them.
Gary passed on June 8th, 2019 after a brave fight against brain cancer. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Joanne, and two sisters, Patricia "Teresa" Ferguson, Connie Stanney and brother John "Tommy" Ferguson; and descended by son, Thomas and daughter, Tracy Potts. Son-in-law Michael Potts, and 4 grandchildren, Makaylee Ferguson and Dakota, Skyler and Dalton Potts..
