On the divinely ordained day of June 21, 2024, Gloria A. Watt (Rowell), a cherished child of God, completed her earthly pilgrimage and was called by the Lord to her eternal home in Jacksonville, FL < https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/local/florida/jacksonville-area >. Born on the blessed day of May 20, 1960, in North Chicago, IL, Gloria graced this world with a spirit of humility that shone through her every action and kindled the light of Christ in all who knew her.

A disciple of beauty in both soul and profession, Gloria cultivated her gifts at the Virginia Ferrell Cosmetology School, where she learned to serve others by enhancing the splendor of God's creation. With the hands of a servant and the heart of a guardian, she embarked upon a vocation that mirrored the ministry of Jesus, caring for the least of these as a foster care provider with Spectrum Human Services, a home health aide, and an independent contractor.

Gloria's earthly journey was a testament to the virtues of faith, hope, and charity, and she sowed seeds of love that blossomed in the lives of her family: Brother Jack Jones and wife Kim Jones, sister Marilee Johnson Salter and brother Harold Johnson and wife Ouida Johnson. Children, Maurice Rowell and wife Carmallitta Rowell, Brittany Watt, and her beloved grandchildren Maurice Jr., Devin, Cam'ron, and Marlo. A host of nieces and nephews and a host of close friends. She now joins the celestial choir with the angels and saints, reuniting with her foregone loved ones husband Theodore Watt, mother Ida Bell Rowell, father Lewis Johnson, brother Charles Jones and the young angel grandson Amir Rowell.

In her final moments, Gloria was enveloped in a tapestry of prayer, surrounded by a congregation of those who cherished her. Her departure was a gentle whisper, a soul ascending with the dignity and grace with which she lived her life, a humble servant called to her heavenly reward.

The sacred remembrance of Gloria's life will be held at Naugle Funeral Home & Cremations, 1203 Hendricks Ave, Jacksonville, FL < https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/local/florida/jacksonville-area > 32207. The Rowell/Watt family extends an invitation to join in fellowship and celebration of Gloria's profound impact on this world, a life lived with reverence for all of God's creation, and a heart filled with boundless gratitude.
