Grant William Ward, 62, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on January 1, 2018 after a brief illness. Grant will be forever missed and loved by his wife, family and friends. A Private Memorial will be held for Family and Friends on January 28, 2018. Grant was born in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania on March 4, 1955. He graduated from St James Catholic High in Chester, Pennsylvania and continued on to receive a Bachelor Degree in Electronics Engineering from Ohio Institute of Technology. Grant was married to Mary Evans Saltmarsh on May 12, 1996. Together they formed Academie de Montessori School in c. 2000. Grant worked as a Sculptor and Wood Turner for 25 years travelling to Fine Arts & Craft Shows throughout the country. Over the past five years he turned his love of radio controlled helicopters and drones into Aerial Photography, Custom Building and Training. Grant also enjoyed weekends at Jax RC, sailing on Sundays with his RC-12 Model Sailboat Group of mates and spending Friday Nights with special Heartworks Friends. Grant is survived by his spouse, Mary E Saltmarsh; father, Grant W Ward, Sr; brothers, Dennis Ward (Mariann) and Kevin Ward (Teri); sister, Deborah Ward and nieces, Ann Ward and Megan (Justin) Laite. Grant is preceded in death by Rita Baptiste Ward, mother and Gerald Ward, uncle. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Grant's Scholarship Fund c/o Academie de Montessori.
