Harriet Coker Stearns Profile Photo
Mrs. Harriet Coker Stearns, 88, passed away April 13, 2022, in Jacksonville, Florida. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald Stearns. Harriet was the devoted mother to Tommy and Bobby, mother-in-law to Mindy and Jana, and beloved Mimi to Beth, Leah, and Erica as well as two great grandsons (Jace and Travis) and two great granddaughters (Chandler and Parker Kate).

Harriet was born on May 8, 1933, to her parents, Thomas and Leota Coker in Savanah, Georgia. She was one of nine siblings- and survived by two of her sisters, Mary Kate and Shirley. Harriet spent her early adult years raising her sons. She was a talented seamstress, extraordinary baker, loving caretaker, and longtime member of Highlands Baptist Church.

Over the years, Harriet carried many titles such as daughter, wife, sister, mother, and friend, but anyone close to her knew that the title she cherished most was that of Mimi. Harriet spent her favorite years devoting her time, love, and care to her granddaughters. They are left with fond memories of jumping with her on the trampoline, weekend sleepovers, and trips to Walt Disney World.

Harriet was small (standing at 4'11"), but she was mighty. She was a feisty jokester with a heart of gold and a love for the Lord. She will be remembered most for her sense of humor, strength, and devotion to her family. Her loved ones intend to carry on her legacy by placing family first just as she did and never growing too old to believe in "Disney magic."
