Helen Norwood Pritchard, born in Bay Minette, Alabama in 1925, entered eternal life on June 7, 2014 surrounded by her children. A life dedicated to service, Helen was a missionary to the Congo through the Presbyterian Church and served 21 years alongside her dearly beloved husband, John C. Pritchard. Her faith and commitment to God provided her with the courage and bravery to be a pioneer in her ministry and teaching as a missionary in the Congo. Preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, John, her youngest child, Tommy, and her grandson, Nicholas. Survived by her sister, Laura Norwood (Roanoke, VA), and her children; Pamela, David (Juanita), John, Jr. (Barbara), Laura (Patty) and several loving grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Decatur Presbyterian Church on July 12, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel. Helen was always very passionate about missions work and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to
