Helene Balaskiewicz
December 17, 1949 — December 31, 2017
Helene (Len) Balaskiewicz, age 68 of Jacksonville, FL, passed away in her sleep after a 16 year battle with breast cancer on December 31, 2017. She was born to the late Stanley Balaskiewicz and Anna Balaskiewicz. Helene retired to Florida from Louisville, KY after first serving in the Navy, followed by a 42 year career as a Neonatal nurse.
Helene is survived by her Mother, Anna, and siblings Thomas (Lee), Robert, James (Kim) and Jason (Christy). She is also survived by her Aunt, Martha Mergott, of Darmstadt Germany. She leaves behind numerous loving nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to thank her many nurse friends, like Debbie and Rhonda, who stood by her side providing courage and support through the many years.
The visitation is from 6:00 � 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2018 at the Carter Funeral Home, 308 West Oglethorpe Highway, Hinesville, GA 31313. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday January 6, also at Carter Funeral Home. The burial will be at the Hinesville Cemetery immediately following the services.
