Helon Hartley Danese, 89 – of Loretto, Florida, passed away peacefully, among family and friends, on August 9th, 2016. Helon was born on February 18th, 1927. She was a graduate of Landon High School. Helon was a long standing active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. She was a devoted homemaker, loved crafting, was an excellent seamstress and known for the very best Sunday Dinners! She traveled extensively across the world, but, family always came first!
Helon was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter (Buck) Hartley and second husband, Emanuel Danese. She was also preceded in death by her brother, John Earnest Roche, sister Betty Riggs and son Jim Hartley.
Helon is survived by brothers: Fred Roche and Madison Smith;
Was the loving mother of her children: Marvin Hartley (Edie), Lanese Thomas (Bob), Joe Hartley (Candy), Stella Chambers (Mike);
9 grandchildren: Christie Pedder (Simon), Amy Galloway (Bill), Joey Hartley (Satch), Heather Jones, Casey Thomas, Brady Thomas (Brooke), Jessica Fickling (Eddie), Ashley Halloran (David), Alex Hartley (predeceased);
and 11 great grandchildren: Mary Thomson, Abbey Galloway, Jesse Hartley, Molly Galloway, Tristan Hartley, Cameron Marcucci, Emilie Pedder, Calvert Pedder, Ryan Thomas, Sophia Pedder, and Ansley Thomas.
Visitation will be held at 6pm and Rosary will be at 7 pm, Friday evening at Naugle Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 am on Saturday, August, 13th, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Historic Catholic Church (4152 Loretto Road, Jacksonville, FL - 32223)
