Dr. Henry Gustave Breitmoser, Jr. ("Hank"), 81, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2023, at the Community Hospice - Alice and T. O'Neal Douglas Center for Caring. Hank was born in Jacksonville, Florida on March 27, 1942, to Margaret and Henry Breitmoser, Sr. and was the oldest of two children. He was a graduate of Lee High School, a member of the Kappa Alpha Fraternity at the University of Florida, and a graduate of Emory Dental School. Hank was a beloved dentist for over 50 years and a pillar of the Jacksonville community, serving as both the President of the Jacksonville Dental Society and the President of the Northeast Florida Dental Society. He dedicated his life to improving the dental health of generations of patients. He loved spending time with family and friends, playing golf, traveling, and reading, and was an active leader and Elder in his church.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Judith Chancey Breitmoser ("Judy"), his daughter Katharine Hartland (Bill), his son David Breitmoser (Chace), his brother Richard Breitmoser (Dianne) and his grandson Henry Hartland, who affectionately calls him "Bops."
A graveside memorial service to celebrate Hank's life will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 31, at Oaklawn Cemetery, 4801 San Jose Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida 32207.
