Hilda Ortego Manuel

Former long-time Vinton resident, Hilda Manuel, 85, died September 26, 2017 in a local Jacksonville hospital with her daughter, Beverly Thompson by her side. At her request, no services will be held.
Most residents of Vinton know Hilda for her many years as librarian at the Vinton library. She had a great passion for reading and for her grandchildren. She is survived by her three children, Karl Manuel and spouse, Virginia, of Sulphur, LA; Beverly Thompson and her spouse, Dennis, of Jacksonville, FL; and Ellen Vunk, Dallas, TX. She had 5 beautiful grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas (D.J.) Manuel.
