Imogene Creasman

Imogene Bennett Creasman, age 94, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 20, 2019 with family. Born February 15, 1925, her parents were the late Etta Lorena Hamrick and Thomas Hubert Bennett from Etowah, TN. She graduated from the class of 1943 from Etowah High School, Etowah TN. Married Edwin Kensell Creasman in 1945 and lived most of her adult life in Marietta, GA. Widowed at age 38, she then started her career with Rich's department store and retired after 30 years of service. In 2014, she moved to Jacksonville, FL to be closer to family.
Her foundation was built on her faith, family, love for others, and strength in prayer.
Survived by her children, daughter Barbara Jean Smith and son Bennett Creasman. Barbara Jean Smith of Wilmington, NC, married Ted Smith, and they have three sons. Greg and Jerri Smith of Wake Forest, NC, Jeff and Amy Smith, daughter Rebecca of Fayetteville, NC, Brian and Laura Smith, son Keaton of Winterville, NC. Her son Bennett Creasman of Ponte Vedra, FL, married Leah, and they have a son Justin and daughter Jessica, with three grandchildren Kaden, Ben, and Christian.
Her service will be held at Roswell Street Baptist Church in Marietta, GA on Saturday, January 4, 2020. The Visitation will be at 9:30am and the Funeral will follow at 11:00am. She will be laid to rest in Etowah, TN later that same day. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Roswell Street Baptist Church.
Imogene was a member of Roswell Street Baptist Church for over 40 years and volunteered 30 years at Eastside Baptist Church in the Christian Activity Center. After relocating to Florida she lived at Augustine Landing Retirement Home where she was very active and attended Crown Point Baptist Church. Imogene will be missed by many, but we all have the promise of seeing her again in the presence of our most high God. One of her favorite scriptures was, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John? ?3:16
