James Ernest Hauser, (Jimmy) aged 59, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away on May 9,
2023. He was a loving son, brother, nephew, cousin, uncle, and friend! He was also
referred to as our loving "BoBo" and "Jim-Bo".
Jimmy was born on September 27, 1963, to Mildred Christine Bonham and Ernest
Hauser in Louisville, KY. He was named in honor of his uncle, James Edward
Bonham. At the age of 3, Jimmy became a resident of Anna Maria Island and
Bradenton, FL. Jimmy, his mom, and his siblings grew up enjoying the beaches and
created many lasting memories. He attended Orange Ridge Elementary School,
Bradenton Middle School, and Manatee High School.
Jimmy was extremely athletic and won many awards and accolades including being
recognized by Baseball Hall of Famer, Willie Stargell, for his prowess in baseball.
Willie watched Jimmy compete in many sports as the Pittsburg Pirates' Florida
Stadium was right next door to the Bradenton Boys' Club. Willie showed up at
Jimmy's home to inform Jimmy's mother how he was an extraordinary athlete and
would win at anything he competed.
This type of ability also came through in any position of work. You were favored if
you had Jimmy on your team! Jimmy was blessed to have his Mamaw and Papaw live
right down the street. They both instilled in Jimmy, as well as the rest of the family,
the pride of "giving it your all" and "a job worth doing was worth doing it right"!
Jimmy was outgoing, personable, giving, and protective. He had many great friends
throughout his life and "would give the shirt off his back" for his family and friends.
Jimmy lit up a room upon entrance and was expected to lead with a
"Wooooooooooo"!
In 1986, Jimmy moved from Bradenton to Jacksonville, to be near siblings who had
recently located to Jacksonville. It is in Jacksonville, that Jimmy met the love of his
life, Alice Gurley (preceded Jimmy in death).
Jimmy's hobbies included playing and watching sports, watching WWE wrestling,
playing billiards/pool, attending social events and partying with friends, listening to
music, and enjoying the great outdoors. He loved to spend time with his family and
he loved animals, especially all his 4-legged family members who were canines.
