Jill Muirhead Sprunt
February 2, 1935 — March 4, 2020
Jill Muirhead Kimball Sprunt was called home by our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 4th, after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.
Jill was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on February 2nd, 1935, to Louis and Adeline Kimball.
Jill graduated high school in 1952 from Beaver Country Day School. After high school, Jill took some time off and traveled across the United States with her sister Babs Townsend. Upon their return, Jill enrolled in Briar Cliff Junior College in New York City. She also attended the University of Colorado for a year and graduated from the prestigious Katharine Gibbs College for women.
Jill's 1st job was working for the Vice President of New England Mutual Life Insurance Company and later went to work as an executive secretary to the research and development director at E.R. Squibb and Sons in New Jersey and Dr. Gene Frame in Jacksonville Fl.
On December 17th, 1960, Jill married James Dalziel Sprunt. They had two wonderful and loving sons, Scott and Stephen, and blessed with four grandchildren.
Jill devoted much of her time to Ortega United Methodist Church, where she was a devoted and long time member. She was active in her prayer circle, garden club, book club, and bridge club even throughout her illness. Jill also enjoyed playing tennis, volunteering at the polls at election time, listening to music, and sending cards and notes of inspiration.
There was nothing more Important to Jill than her relationship with God and the immense love she felt towards her children.
She loved being surround by music, laughter, and her family.
Jill's faith was an inspiration to all who knew her, and even in the darkest of hours, her beliefs and faith never wavered.
Jill is survived by her sons, Scott (Peggy) Stephen,(Beverly) and four grandchildren, Jennifer Sprunt Peeples( Lt. Commander Adam Peeples) Alex Sprunt, Cole Sprunt, and Jake Sprunt.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all of the beautiful souls and caring staff at Community Hospice and Someplace Like Home for the love and compassion they showed to Jill and the entire family.
A celebration of Life will be held for Jill on Saturday March 14th, at 11 am at Ortega United Methodist Church.
