James "Jim" Rhea Kidd, 81, of Jacksonville, Fla. passed away on December 28, 2023 with his wife of 54 years, Joy P. Kidd, by his side.
Jim was born in Springfield, Tenn. where his family taught school and served in local education. He learned early to apply himself and work hard.
Jim was a lifelong educator. He graduated from Austin Peay State College. He served as a Palm Beach County School Administrator with thirty-nine years of education experience and an additional sixteen years of self-employment as a Florida State Certified General Contractor.
His students benefitted from his unique blend of traditional academic and practical life experience. Having won many accolades and awards over the years, Jim's goal was a targeted education in the best interest of his pupils.
Jim's circle of family and friends was large and ever-widening. He ministered to those in need and those seeking a greater understanding of the Word of God, pastoring a church in Clewiston, FL. for more than 10 years. Later in life Jim moved his family to the Jacksonville area to be in fellowship with the Jacksonville Assembly of the body of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Bailey Kidd, and his parents, A.R. Kidd and Mable Martha Kidd. Survivors include his wife, Joy P. Kidd, sons, Rhea Lee Kidd,(Hopkinsville, KY) Clifton Waylon Kidd,(Jacksonville, FL) and grandson, Kyle James Kidd.(Jacksonville, FL) Also surviving are many cousins, nieces, nephews and treasured loved ones.
