John Edward White, of Jacksonville, formerly of Boston, MA and San Jose, CA.
Beloved father of Shaun of San Jose, California, Tatiana of Twin Falls, Idaho and John, Maggie and Tim White all of Jacksonville, Florida. Treasured brother of Michele White of San Diego, California, and Lisa and Kieran McGrath of Weymouth, MA, as well as the late Deborah Groom of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, the late Stephen White of St. Petersburg, FL and the late Laura White of Marshfield, MA. Ex-husband and besties with Katie Jones of Jacksonville, Florida and Jackie Fourie of San Jose, California, and partner in crime with Ron Hicks of Jacksonville, FL. Super proud grandpa of Izabel, Jackson and Catlynn and adored uncle to Mary Groom, Meg and Conor McGrath.
John grew up in Boston, joined the Navy and then spent several years in California before settling in Jacksonville in the early 90s. John was hard-working, loving and selfless. He instilled those qualities in his children. John adored his family. Nothing made him happier than being surrounded by his kids and grandkids. He literally lit up talking about them. John loved to have fun and would sing at the top of his lungs and dance his heart out at any opportunity. He loved animals, cold beer, football and fishing. John was a master carpenter who loved to do anything with wood. He loved to restore old homes and churches and took much pride in his beautiful work. Back in the day, he was also an avid beach bum surfer who loved living out at Jax beach.
John loved to relax and enjoy the simple things in life, not sweating the little things and just enjoying time with his family and watching Despicable Me with his grandkids. John thought a day without laughter is a day not worth living and he loved to joke and make people smile even if he was having a bad day, he was never above cheering you up. Your happiness was more important to him, always.

The family will be holding a celebration of life in the Penthouse at Casa Marina, 691 1st St N, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250 at 5:00pm on Thursday, April 4, 2019. Family and friends are welcome to attend
